I displayed our family treasure, the 『Hina Dolls』.
『Hina Dolls』 are displayed during Japan’s annual event, 「Hinamatsuri」 (Doll Festival), symbolizing 『the healthy growth of girls (children), protection from misfortune, and a talisman for their future wishes』.
・「Hinamatsuri」: One of Japan’s annual events, held on March 3rd (Peach Festival), to pray for the health and happiness of girls.
My mother’s family sent them to us when my sister celebrated her first March 3rd. They are antique and precious, 35 years old.
The dolls’ various expressions (crying, angry, smiling, etc.) are also characteristic. Furthermore, decorating each doll’s small props (like musical instruments) involves meticulous work that isn’t always straightforward.
For 35 years, our family has displayed the Hina dolls without fail. Moving forward, we wish to continue cherishing not only traditional Japanese martial arts and martial disciplines as part of our culture, but also our family treasures like these dolls.
Finally, I express my heartfelt gratitude to my mother, who has always arranged the display for these past 35 years.
Thank you so much, Mom.
