❮Bukuden-ryu Jujutsu Koshinomawari Iai Heiho: Sokuzato migi (Right)❯
I’d like to share two practice videos demonstrating Bukuden-ryu koshinomawari Iaijutsu (drawing technique) using a 『Three-Foot-Three-Inch Sword』 ⚔️
There’s a video at the beginning and end, so I’d be delighted if you could watch them ✨✨
This time, I practiced iai (drawing the sword) from seated techniques (one knee down) while wearing the sword on both hips.
・First video: Sword on left hip (drawing with right hand)
・Final video: Sword on right hip (drawing with left hand)
Seated techniques in iai (drawing the sword) are a uniquely Japanese method, quite rare even when compared to martial arts and combat systems worldwide🇯🇵
『Three-Foot-Three-Inch Sword』I use has a blade length of 99.9cm (approx. 100cm), and the total weight of the sword is approximately 1.4kg (1.8kg including the scabbard).
I primarily use it for iai and drawing the sword practice, as well as for training with empty-swing drills. Its blade length is a key feature, being slightly lower than my shoulder height (180cm).
I’m still learning, but the principle is 「using the entire body to strike accurately, powerfully, and quickly」. This is crucial in martial arts and budo, and I will continue to enhance my overall strength🔥🔥
